Lillian Weber, a 99-year-old good Samaritan from Iowa, has spent the last few years sewing a dress a day for the Little Dresses For Africa charity, a Christian organization that distributes dresses to children in need in Africa and elsewhere.
Weber’s goal is to make 1,000 dresses by the time she turns 100 on May 6th. So far, she’s made more than 840. Though she says she could make two a day, she only makes one – but each single dress she makes per day is personalized with careful stitchwork. She hopes that each little girl who receives her dress can take pride in her new garment.
I just tried to discretely use one if the body sprays at work cuz it was called Fantasy Forest and I was like…. I’m down…. BUT IT JUST SMELLS LIKE REALLY STRONG DIRT AND A GUY YELLED “WHO SPRAYED THAT FOREST ELF SHIT” FROM ACROSS THE STORE
Okay so loosing the past avatars, opening up the spirit portals, and the threat of Korra going down in history as “Korra the Last Avatar”. Also the air nomads spreading throughout the world in order to help do the work of the avatar. I have this scary feeling that the end of book 4 is gonna result in Korra sacrificing herself while in the Avatar state to restore some type of balance (i.e. light and dark, spiritual etc. in cause) or just because there is simply no other way to resolve w/e conflict is going on. With the spirit portals open there is theoretically no need for the Avatar to act as a link between worlds. And with the air nomads spreading out to keep the peace among nations, again theoretically the Avatar is not necessary. Like they’ve been slowly setting this up. Just a theory, but I really hope I’m wrong… Any thoughts?
One thing I absolutely love about Avatar the last Airbender and Legend of Korra is that they have really proved themselves worthy of some serious cred for going outside of stereotypes and showing us developed characters who are more than their gender, physicality, background, appearance etc.
I think it’s time for Korra’s life changing field trip with Zuko
